Being Busy Means

At this time of year with fall cleanup under way and preparations for our winter trip south the following comes to mind.

Hosta Worst Plant Ever

I am not much of a gardener, but these things have to be worse than dandelions. They start out small, then they are everywhere.

Mid-way through the season they sprout kinky sideways purple flowers on long stems that if you don’t trim them off look like needles without the haystack.

That means you got to trim them twice. Once to get rid of the sideways flower stems, and then again at fall cleanup time to get rid of the big fat elephant ear style leaves.

Hostas start out small, but then expand like insulation foam to every part of your garden.

Sorry avid gardeners, you may have many reasons why hostas are great plants. I have only two reasons why they are not in my world – trimming and cutting!
